Our Core Beliefs

We believe that prayer matters because God matters. We are committed to obeying God's word and glorifying the Lord Jesus in every aspect of this ministry. We value compassion, kindness, and acceptance. We believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds.

Format

The Online Prayer Group invites those that need prayer or know of someone who needs prayer to join with us through Zoom.

WHO WE ARE

My name is Rick. My wife Cindy and I moved out to the Quinte West area about six years ago and have been attending a local house of worship for approximately five years. We both felt there was a need for prayer to be offered to anyone that is unable to or does not attend a place of worship on a regular basis. Many simply don’t know anyone who will pray for or with them. They don’t know who to turn to. If you know of anyone like that or have friends, family members or acquaintances that are struggling and need prayer but are not sure where to turn, we want you to know we are here for them. We believe that inspiration and encouragement is very important when we face struggles in our life and seeing and hearing others pray for you can provide the comfort that is needed at these times.

hOW IT WORKS

Urgent Prayer Requests

When tragedy befalls someone such as illness, accident or family disaster, on short notice we will be available to provide comfort through prayer. Our goal is to assemble our prayer team within 24 hours. We encourage those being prayed for, if able, to attend the meeting as we have found this to be both encouraging and inspirational for them. As well, if you have family members or friends that would like to be included in the Zoom online prayer meeting that can be arranged. Then What?

Once you provide your email address as well as any family members or friends you wish to attend for support you will be sent a Zoom link with a date and time to connect with the Online Prayer Team.

At the appointed time, you, your guests and our Prayer Team will gather online through the Zoom link for a time of prayer.

How did this Ministry come to be?

Some time ago, I felt a strong nudging to create an “online” prayer initiative. After much thought and discussion, the idea took shape and developed into an online prayer group that will function through the Zoom platform. The Zoom account has been set up and we constructed a website, which is currently live and ready to be checked out theonlineprayergroup.ca Our mission is two-fold 1)To be able to efficiently mobilize with our Prayer Team through Zoom to accommodate any urgent prayer requests 2) To pray with our core Prayer Team on a weekly basis via Zoom. The main thrust is to be there for people, irrespective of geographical location; people who have had tragedy befall them, such as illness, accident, or family disaster. Our goal is to have a team prepared to accommodate an urgent prayer request within 24 hours. Once we are notified by someone, we will establish an agreed upon time for the Zoom meeting. We would ask them for the emails of any friends, family member or others they would like to see on the meeting. They can participate in prayer with our group or simply be online to encourage and support the family. We encourage those being prayed for, if able, to attend the meeting, as we have found this to be both encouraging and inspirational for them as well as for all who attend.

I've never been on Zoom...what do I do?

You will be emailed a Zoom invitation, which will include a live link. Simply click on the link and follow the prompts and you should arrive in the meeting. Make sure your microphone and camera are on. For those who have never used Zoom, the platform will be open 20 minutes prior to the meeting. And if you require assistance getting into the meeting send us an e-mail and someone will walk you through the steps.
